    Crockett and his players

Once again, PV loses another player with great potential. Fleenor, the entire team one year, and now Cedric Mitchell. I am not saying it is all Crockett's fault however does one not think that he plays a part in this? This team will fall apart imo and that is sad with all the potential they had, my fear is that other players will follow. I've been around these kids and I wouldn't be shocked to see the Pinkston's follow suit. Crockett needs to go, his coaching style is sad, and his discipline and control of his players is even worse. I've been told that Crockett feels that he doesn't have a pressing team, people look at our team. Against Haysi we stayed in a zone that was packed in until they hit upteen million threes on us and even then he waited til the fourth quarter to get out of it. The man has no control or idea what is going on the court or how to keep his players. The fans, players, alumni, and students understand and realize this and talk about it privately. I'm tired of it being talked about in private, you can ask old players, fans, alumni, students, other coaches from around the LPD and just basketball fans and they will tell you he is not a good coach. What once looked like a great run of PV basketball teams looks to be going down the drain due to poor coaching and discipline.

I think he really needs to look at his personnel and make better decisions on running certain defenses and actually run some offense.

PV needs to hire Kory Bostic as the Head B-ball coach. He would be fun to play under and I'm sure the kids would love to play under him.

    Re: Crockett and his players

I talked to cedric today at school, he is not going to play basketball this year.We need to get rid of Crockett. This will be another year that the Vikings have the talent to go to the region tournament but will not becasue of poor coaching. I also talked to some other basketball players and about 3 of them are thinking about quiting. I wouldnt be suprised to see malcolm, palmer, and spurlock to follow being Cedric. Re: Crockett and his players

As many years as I have been removed from PV sports, especially football and basketball, I have to say that I agree about Crockett. I was shocked when he was hired as head coach. Given, I haven't seen him coach a single game @ PV, but I do remember how he was as a JV coach @ Appy. PV basketball has spent the last two decades in turmoil. Some of it is outside influence and some of it is brought on by the head coach. There hasn't been as much basketball talent since '98, and emphasis on development of the PV basketball program has gotten worse from what I hear. PVfan, I understand where you are coming from, but until an overall attitude change with the program takes place from top to bottom, you will continue to see the same product on the floor year after year.

    Re: Crockett and his players

I think it is just a tough sport to coach at a school like that. Where football and track have such a big pull. I really think that is why Kelly has not had as much success during baseball season while at PV. He has had the athletes, and a few good ball players, but they still lose atleast 2 or 3 potential starters every year.

    Re: Crockett and his players

Ok MItchell quit!!!! Any reason why? It seems like every year P.V. has a few players that don't stick it out. If the j.v. team is so good why doesn't Crockett bring a few of those kids up. Im not going to get on here and dog any coach by any means. Coaching is one of the toughest things ever...people always have their own opinions.
